My advertising career started in the mailroom (pardon the cliche) of McCann Erickson in San Francisco. It was the perfect place to learn the business while I put my portfolio together. I got my first writing job at Rubin Postaer and Associates in Los Angeles and liked it so much that I stayed for eight years, working on TV, radio, print and collateral for Honda, along with other accounts such as US West, Kubota Tractors, and Lands' End. After that I went freelance and worked for a variety of clients, including Mitsubishi, McDonalds, and Store of Knowledge. Most recently, I took some time away from advertising to write a novel and teach poetry writing to kids. Stepping away for a while allowed me to refine my writing skills, broaden my perspective, and embrace all that this ever-changing business has to offer. Since returning, I have worked on everything from digital to direct TV, and I enjoy every new challenge that comes along.
